which will help you understand the mediation process and ask questions
2. MIAM
Mediation Information & Assessment Meeting
Before formal mediation can begin, each party must attend a MIAM (Mediation Information & Assessment Meeting). This is a legal requirement in most family cases before going to court.
This is a private meeting between you and the mediator.
Cost: From £95 - £120 per person (dependant on grade of mediator)
3. Joint or Shuttle meetings
If your mediator assesses your case to be suitable for mediation you will receive an agreement to mediate. Your mediator may offer you a shared meeting with the other party (or joint meeting), or continue in private meetings in parallel, called shuttle (or arms length) meetings.
Cost: From £120 per person or FREE with the voucher scheme
Voucher Scheme.
ALL parties (not means tested) are entitled to two FREE mediation sessions if the parties have children.
We will apply and collect the funding on your behalf after both MIAMs are complete.
There is no delay in using the funding we will continue with mediation at your pace.
